Planview Announces Breakthrough Capabilities Focused on Accelerating Business Process Change and Organizational Adoption of Portfolio Management
New releases of Planview Enterprise and Planview Learning Center provide customers with innovative products and process-centric solutions for accelerating the adoption of the portfolio management discipline
Austin TX on 10 January 2008
Planview®, the leading independent provider of enterprise-wide portfolio management solutions, today announced from the 2007 Planview Horizons User Conference the latest version of Planview Enterprise® and the introduction of Planview Learning Center. With these new announcements, Planview continues to deliver innovative product and process adoption capabilities that facilitate the organizational changes required to accelerate the dramatic returns associated with a successful portfolio management initiative.
Planview Enterprise 9.1 delivers more than 60 customer-driven enhancements with a focus on improving usability and organizational adoption, including Intelligent Help, a breakthrough user experience that reinvents the help function typically found in enterprise software applications. Built on the Microsoft SharePoint platform, Intelligent Help seamlessly combines traditional user guide content with a wide range of training and best practices content available through the new Planview Learning Center. Intelligent Help is context sensitive and customer extensible to ensure Planview Enterprise users have direct access to the information they need, when they need it.
“Planview has always believed that business process change is at the core of any portfolio management initiative. We recognize that many organizations struggle with defining and driving adoption of new business processes,” said Patrick Tickle, executive vice president of Products at Planview. “By providing enhanced integration of process models and best practices, coupled with direct access to intuitive on-demand training modules, our customers are better equipped to enable process change and adoption within their organizations.”
The Planview Learning Center accelerates adoption through integrated access to formal and informal learning tools, including all product documentation, E-Learning modules, including the Premier E-Learning Program content, the Planview PRISMS® process library, and community-developed message boards. The Planview Learning Center is available on Planview Direct, the market-leading customer portal.
Planview Enterprise 9.1 also includes a major enhancement to the Planview Enterprise Business Process Manager announced in July 2007, which provides end-to-end IT business process modeling and management as an integrated component of Planview Enterprise. In addition to supporting a broad range of IT business processes, from custom designed to ITIL, Business Process Manager now supports the Planview PRISMS Process Library, an industry-leading IT business management process knowledge base and best practices library.
Additional customer-driven features of Planview Enterprise 9.1 which are designed to improve usability include extensions of the new user experience to the portfolio manager, updated timesheet features and design, and improved analytics and reporting.
“For portfolio management to have maximum impact, organizations must address the people, process, technology and information management aspects with equal intensity,” says David Stodder, VP and Research Director for IT Performance Management at Ventana Research. “We are impressed with the Planview Learning Center and other enhancements in the Planview Enterprise 9.1 release, which enable people to rapidly understand and collaborate to use the technology effectively and drive the process changes essential to creating an agile, high-performance IT organization.”
Planview Enterprise 9.1 and the Planview Learning Center will be available in Q4 of 2007. For more information, visit www.planview.com.
