Telefónica International Wholesale Services (TIWS) chooses Interoute to reinforce and expand its network in Europe

Strategic Partnership forged, as Interoute becomes themain fibre optic network provider for TIWS in Western Europe

Telefónica International Wholesale Services has selected Interoute as its core fibre optic network provider for Western Europe, responsible for deploying a next-generation optical DWDM network. As part of this strategic partnership TIWS will also become Interoute’s provider for trans-Atlantic, USA and Latin America routes.

Interoute will provide TIWS with a 100 GB capacity network connecting the major cities of Europe , to support its future expansion plans. This long-term partnership agreement reinforces the business relationship the companies have been developing for years.

TIWS will enjoy the benefits of working directly with the owner of Europe’s largest next generation network leveraging the economies of scale, simplicity and management convenience characterising Interoute’s network. The backbone network is designed for scalability, flexibility and route diversity to ensure the highest quality and transparency in connectivity across the entire network.

This agreement extends the TIWS network footprint to the main cities in Western Europe, including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Dusseldorf and Marseille, and includes a plan to add more cities in the future.
