Sourcefire partners with Interoute to provide next-generation intrusion prevention systems as a managed service

Sourcefire, Inc., a leader in intelligent cybersecurity solutions, today announced it is providing its Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention Systems (NGIPS) to Interoute, the owner operator of Europe’s largest cloud services platform, as part of Interoute’s new Managed Security Service.
The new partnership will enable Interoute to integrate Sourcefire’s best-of-breed NGIPS within its pan European private cloud to deliver a scalable, managed automated security platform to its customers. Sourcefire NGIPS integrates real-time contextual awareness into its inspection, helping to identify the cause and severity of attacks to help reduce the burden on IT departments through improved accuracy in alerting. Using the Sourcefire NGIPS, Interoute’s new service will increase the quality of customer data protection while reducing complexity. Interoute’s customers will also have management level access to primary information for compliance and reporting purposes to support increasing accreditation demands, such as ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and ISAE 3402.
