Interoute, owner operator of Europe’s largest network and a global cloud services platform, today announced that Wyless, the leading end-to-end solutions provider for M2M (machine-to-machine) and IoT (Internet of Things) has launched its scalable version of the Wyless Porthos Management Platform across Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC).
Wyless Porthos™ is an industry-leading management software solution that provides complete control over Wyless customers’ services and connected devices. The first new Porthos site on Interoute VDC New York has already launched for Wyless’ partnership with a large mobile operator in the USA, who will use the Porthos Management Platform to manage its M2M services. A second Interoute VDC site in London will add global capability to the Wyless platform and also serve as a geo-rendundant failover for the US location. The IoT is predicted to grow to 26 billion connected devices by 20201 making the need for a rapidly scalable as well as a robust virtualized network clear. With eight virtual data centres covering Europe, Asia and America, Interoute VDC provides the perfect environment for Wyless to service their projected extraordinary growth.
Dan McDuffie, CEO, Wyless, said: “Over the past year, our strategy at Wyless included geographic expansion into Continental Europe and Brazil via our recent acquisitions, while also focusing on massive scalability of our service management platforms in order to address the rapid growth of IoT and M2M services worldwide.”
“By fully deploying our Wyless services within Interoute Virtual Data Centre, we now have the ability to rapidly expand new instances of our platforms for our global enterprise and mobile operator partners. Our mission of simplifying IoT enables freedom for the enterprise customer by offering an end-to-end set of solutions. Our Core2Cloud strategy fits well with Interoute’s from the ground to the cloud philosophy and I believe that together both companies offer a winning combination of services for the Internet of Things.”
Matthew Finnie, CTO, Interoute, commented, “The Internet of Things is the type of dispersed, rapidly evolving and massively connected world Interoute Virtual Data Centre was created for. Interoute VDC’s massively scalable computing capability delivered across an advanced network with low latency and high reliability is exactly the environment Wyless needed in order to cater for the M2M needs of mobile network operators and enterprises.”
“We’re delighted to work with Wyless to enable it to offer a range of flexible and scalable M2M and IoT cloud based solutions globally through both our own Interoute CloudStore as well as Wyless’ Cloud Store. Both businesses will be at the forefront of what is expected to be one of the biggest growth areas of the technology industry.”
London is earmarked as the next location for the deployment of the Wyless Porthos Management Platform for later this year.
