World leading marine insurer selects Interoute for digital transformation
Interoute to support Gard with its digital transformation and to improve the customer experience.
London, June 13 2017 – Interoute, owner-operator of a global cloud services platform and one of Europe’s largest and most advanced networks, has been selected by Gard, one of the world’s leading marine insurance companies that protects over 12,000 vessels globally, to support its digital transformation.
Today, every industry is affected by the move towards increased digitalization, including the marine insurance industry. Gard is always looking for ways to optimize and increase operational efficiency by developing its product portfolio and services. This is why Gard selected Interoute to support its digital transformation strategy and to improve the user experience – providing constant availability with optimal latency
“We consulted leading experts, as we wanted to be absolutely certain that we choose the right partner. We soon realized that not only did Interoute have the best technical solutions for us, they were also the most innovative and agile provider we spoke to and they really understood our needs,” says Carl August Poppe, Senior Manager Infrastructure Capabilities, Technology and Business Transformation at Gard.
Gard has already improved its internal work processes between 13 offices supported by Interoute’s ICT infrastructure and Virtual Data Centre cloud platform, improving the experience for all employees.
“We cannot prevent accidents from happening, but we can help our members manage risk and its consequences and ultimately get them back to business as usual – as quick and smoothly as possible. To do this, we needed a stable and reliable digital infrastructure to enable smarter and faster working procedures while at the same time improving the user experience,” says Carl August Poppe.
To support the digital transformation, Gard has invested heavily in ICT. Interoute’s global Enterprise Digital Platform and cloud solution connects all Gard’s services and third-party applications. This results in operational stability with cloud flexibility and an agile environment that enables the transition from legacy to digital IT.
Mark Lewis, EVP Products and Development, comments: “The cloud’s flexibility is an important factor in this, as it ensures a smooth digital transition without any data loss during the transfer. Gard is the perfect example of a company that has managed to do so and we are proud to have them as customers.”
Carl August Poppe adds: “ICT is the corner stone of our mission to ensure our customers and members a safe and predictable risk transfer process, and our digital transition will bring us even closer to our customers as well as deliver a consistent and reliable service.”
